Hello there literate roleplayers. Are you tired of bland Light vs. Dark plots, equine RPGs that all seem the same, and plots that don't affect your character?
Well we've got a surprise for you. At The Secret it's not just about good and evil. In fact, good and evil don't have a lot to do with things. No matter whose side you're on, you can be as nice or as cruel as you see fit. But if you live in the north you'd better be tough if you want to stay alive. Here's a summary of what kinds of characters you can make:
Southern equines: The Resistance. You like freedom and would rather be left to your own devices. Conquering is not really your thing, you just want to be left alone to start a herd. Weakland equines: The Captives. You keep your head down and hope you don't get beaten up too often. You dream of escaping to the south, but know you'll be killed for trying. Mostly mares live here, though there is a small number of stallions. They usually get beaten down the most so they can't rebel. Northern equines: Tartarus's Legions. You work for the mastermind, Tartarus, the one who blew the news about the object of power out into the open. You answer to his captain Atlas, and you spend your time fighting, bullying mares in the Weaklands, and training colts for the army. If you have any spare time you can gather a small herd. Haven of Hesperides: The Secret Keepers. You know not hate nor greed, and you live within the walls of the Haven. You may leave to explore, but other equines seem so different to you. You live in peace and philosophy, seeking knowledge and enlightenment. But you know what is brewing, and the battle will come to your doorstep even though they cannot break down the door.

What's going on... ?
There was peace once, though by now it is but a distant memory in the minds of those old enough to remember. There was order and cohesion, and nothing to fear. The Keepers of Hesperides stayed within their walled Haven, and none disrupted their peace. There was always a rumor that an object of unspeakable power lay hidden within those great walls, but in time the rumor grew dull with age. But now a young stallion, maddened with greed, is gathering all the information he can about this mysterious object of celestial power. Flanked by the powerful drafts of the northern lands, he is murdering and taking prisoners left and right. There is only a handful of southern herds that stand against him, led by the mysterious Theseus. If they are vanquished, the Keepers will be on their own. Chaos and uncertainty abound. How much longer can the forces of reason hold off this madman?
The board is set, the pieces are in play. Whose side will you join?
After WW2, the country of America was vulnerable. Breakthroughs such as the discovery of penicillin had helped assure that not many people died, but the pure horror of Pearl Harbor shook up the nation beyond repair. Wives lost their husbands. Mothers lost their sons. There was little that anyone could do but give their condolences and try to reassure. Everyone was on edge, even after the war stopped. Immortals in America felt threatened. Their secrecy was under threat due to the fact that they were unable to fight in the war. Lycans were killed and called unpatriotic. Vampires were stabbed and called Satanists by a nation who had found their religion and self again, but pushed the minority out. It was then that someone needed to step in and try to help, even if only a little and against the mass vote of humans. This was the time for a new rein of government, and the immortals knew that. Humans fought amongst themselves, more then was necessary. Wars were created by people, evil people, who not even a demon would talk to. Truth was, the humans were becoming worse then what they feared. It was here that the saying, "If you can't play together nicely, you can't play at all," came to the mind of many. If they couldn't run the country well, they wouldn't at all or at least easily. People revolted. Called traitors due to the fact America was trying to knit together. Neighbourhoods were split because a new breed of segregation and racism came to power. Nobody fully understood why they hated the people they did, but they chose to follow rather then question.
Razul Callahan. The son of the Morning Star himself saw and heard of this problem. He had run his kingdom in Hell for so long that he forgot about the chaos that used to surround him. A childhood of violence had swerved into an adulthood where he could respectively look down at humans. They were losing the track, a track that they had been put on in the beginning but free-will had caused a string of events that led to how the country was now. It was not just America however; it was all around the western world... But he felt that one of the leading countries in the world should have known better. In his head, he needed a new challenge, and so went to New York to try and see what he could help.
Perhaps even his free-will caused a string of wrong decisions...
Because now humans are enslaved, Demons have become a city's dictatorship... Can it be fixed?

Omega stood with a start and went over to Teagan. He sat back upon his haunches and lifted a paw, kicking Teagan in his side, glaring down at him. He flicked his tail, his eyes flashing. Phoenix shrieked and dove for Liam, eyes blazing, talons forward.

Teagan couldn't take the silence. It drove him crazy. Finally, he stood up and turned circles before plopping down right in front of the opening for the den. He hoped Omega didn't mind that he was now blocking him into his den, but at the same time he felt that Omega deserved to be annoyed and he was just doing his job. He could hear Liam squawking in the distance but he tuned everything out and fell asleep quickly.

Hell Fire trotted forth, his head bobbing and mane snapping in the rush of wind. He came to a wolf, and his horse instinct told him to run, this was a predator, but he remained put. he saw the steam and the bubble from the lake andhe snorted, his ebony nostrils flaring.
He tossed his head and said,"Who might you be?" He flicked his tail across his rump, his harks perking forth. He snapped his tail at a fly that insisted upon biting him to cause annoyance and itchiness to the horse for its own satisfaction of blood.
From Hell Fire's broad chin dripped droplets of blood from the crushed rat. He arched his neck and looked down upon Veires. He looked evil, but yet, he was in with the Sorrow Wolves. He snorted softly and shifted his weight. As he did so, his muscles rippled down his bodice silkily, like thread so thick and powerful.

((NOOOOOOOOO!!! Oh wait, it was a rat? Never-mind. YAAAAY!)) Veires heard a chilling screech-of-a-howl going through the Lake. He looked around. Unfamiliar territory... He raised his head, and let loose his own howl, in some sort of response. Every time he howled, of course, fire came from somewhere- but it just came from the lake, and steamed out in a few seconds.

Saikoro looked at Wyrda and gave her a nod. Wyrda cawed a flew from Amukta's shoulder and began to search for big prey. She could kill a big moose. It was easy. They can never reach her. Saikoro then said,"They are my pups as well! I believe it was me who are going to make those pups happen!" He then looked around, waiting for the signal of Wyrda. Wyrda dove down at the deer and striekd at its throat, stunning it. Wyrda cawed and shrieked, doving down again and sinking her talons and beak into the deer's throat. After 15 minutes, the deer fell and she cawed, circling over the spot where it was. Saikoro then said,"I'll be back." He turned and leapt into the trees. Wyrda flew and kept an eye on Amukta. Saikoro grasped the deer and dragged it back. He plopped it down to Amukta and began to circle her, studying her.

"I'm not stupid!" She spat, talking about his escaping comment. "My pups," she continued, "Will have nothing to do with a degenerate cretin like you!" She had to stop yelling as she suddenly felt sick to her stomache. "No matter, neither one of us will have these pups if I don't get something to eat soon." Her tone was bitter and she forced herself to keep from dry heaving.

Saikoro then said,"Those pups are mine! Therefor, when they are born, you can leave! But for now, you are staying with me!" He glanced at Wyrda and she shrieked in Amukta's ear. Saikoro then said,"And if you even think of trying to escape, Wyrda can find you easily."

Amukta struggled to keep her footing as Saikoro so harshly forced her into the terra. "What do you want!?" She yelled, her teeth barred as she tryed not to snap at him. It was taking all of her self-control to keep from trying to attack him. She knew that, even if she did lunge at him, he would surely win. She could already feel the first signs of pups and she wanted nothing to do with them or Saikoro. "Who've got what you wanted! What more could you possibly expect!?"
